Dartmouth College Trust

About the Trust

The Dartmouth College Trust offers a tax-efficient vehicle for Dartmouth College alumni, parents, and friends who are UK resident taxpayers to support the educational mission of the College. The Trust was established by the College and registered with the Charity Commission in 1996 (charity #1054144).

How to Make a Gift

The Trust accepts gifts in GBP by wire transfer. Email Janet Gilson for wire instructions at janet.m.gilson@dartmouth.edu. In your email, please indicate the amount of your transfer in GBP and the intended allocation of your gift (example: “500 GBP with 450 for DCF and 50 for Friends of Softball”).

Please note that credit card gifts do not qualify for gift aid.

Donations Under Gift Aid

For those who pay taxes in the UK at the Basic Rate, the Trust will recover from the Inland Revenue the basic tax paid on your donation, thus stretching your gift to Dartmouth by 25 percent. There is no minimum or maximum gift necessary to qualify for Gift Aid. Once your gift is received, you will be sent a Gift Aid Form to be completed and returned if you have not submitted one previously.

Acknowledging Your Generosity

We appreciate your generous support. Your gift will be acknowledged both by the Trust and by the College. The full amount of your gift (your contribution plus any Gift Aid recovered) will be counted in your personal giving record at the College. Gifts received by April 1 of each year will have gift aid included in the current year's Fund total.
